MAIN OBJECTIVES
Responsible forthetimelyorder placement,supplyand expeditionofraw materials, assemblies,and support services tomaintainproduction.Managingselect suppliers to ensure on time delivery while managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and maximize turns. Liaisingwith Engineering, Planning, Sales, and Manufacturing disciplines (team approach), highly focussed onenvironmentaland ethical tradingconsiderations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation and distribution of weeklyexpeditereports to selected supply chain partners, ensuring that all respond, and data is entered into company ERP system.
- Analysesexception messagesfromERP system,and placesPurchase ordersensuring cost effectivetimelydelivery.
- Preparation of document packs (electronic) in support of custom part order needs, (i.e., drawings, BOM’s, Gerber files) ready tosubmitto supply chain partners.
- Manageselectedsuppliers to control inventories and ensuretimelyflow of material.
- Develop working knowledge of commodities and associated supplier base.
- Develop a thorough working knowledge of required ERP system.
- Bring ideas to management and be able to implement necessary process improvements.
- Able and willing to work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines, travel when necessary.
- Other dutiesor responsibilitiesas assigned.
- Responsibility for adhering to the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systemsand contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- CIPS Level 5
- Strong IT skills and a good working knowledge of MS Office suite.
- Advanced Microsoft analytical skills desired but not essential.
- Experienceinpurchasingelectronic or electro-mechanical parts desirable.
