As a Buyer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring that the materials and equipment needed for construction projects are acquired efficiently and cost-effectively.
Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining project timelines and budgets while ensuring the highest quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Manage the purchasing process for construction materials, tools, and services.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers; negotiate terms and pricing to secure optimal contracts.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with project managers to determine material needs and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
- Ensure the timely delivery of materials to project sites to maintain schedules.
- Conduct regular reviews of procurement policies and practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Resolve any procurement-related issues or discrepancies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist in the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Understanding of construction materials, pricing, and procurement processes.
- Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary: £40,000 pa to £55,000 pa + (negotiable depending on experience)
