The cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions efficiently and courteously. This is a shift-based role with hours ranging from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, and 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Sundays. The position requires standing throughout the shift. Primary responsibilities include:

Essential Functions

Operate a cash register

Identifies produce and meat items

Provides customers with superior service

Reconciles cash at the end of shift

Rings customer orders efficiently and accurately

Bags the customer’s order

Cleans the workstation and surrounding area

Returns out of place product to its proper location

Straightens product on shelves

Replenishes bag supplies

Pushes empty shopping carts to its correct location

Education, Experience and Skills

Ability to read, write and speak English

Ability to perform basic math skills

Ability to use a calculator

Ability to understand and follow directions as given

Ability to reach at arm’s length
