About Your Role
The Civil Inspector (Aviation) is responsible for providing construction inspection services for airport infrastructure and civil improvement projects. This position supports project delivery by monitoring construction activities, documenting contractor compliance, verifying installed materials and quantities, and ensuring that work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, safety requirements, and quality standards. The successful candidate will have experience working in active airport environments and inspecting civil construction projects with minimal impact to airport operations.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Certification Requirements
- FDOT CTQP Certifications applicable to assigned inspection duties
- Valid Driver’s License
What You'll Need to Get the Job Done
- Minimum five (5) years of civil construction inspection experience at active airports.
- Experience inspecting utilities, paving, drainage, and site improvement projects.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents.
What You'll Do
- Perform daily inspections of aviation civil construction projects.
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, permits, and contract requirements.
- Document construction progress and contractor compliance through detailed inspection reports.
- Verify quantities of completed work and installed materials.
- Coordinate inspection activities with project management staff, contractors, airport personnel, and stakeholders.
- Monitor project safety practices and identify potential concerns.
- Observe and document quality control and quality assurance requirements.
- Review material deliveries and construction activities for compliance with project standards.
- Maintain accurate project records, photographs, and supporting documentation.
- Report deficiencies, non-conforming work, and project concerns to project management staff.
- Support project closeout activities and final inspections.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

Pay Rate
- $40.00 – $60.00 per hour
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management’s discretion.
