Serves as the principal consultant and senior point of accountability for a portfolio of client accounts, originating new business and growing enterprise relationships through consultative, value-led advisory and hands-on delivery oversight.

About this role

At Experient, we partner with organizations to solve complex business challenges through innovative technology and strategic consulting solutions. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional client experiences, fostering meaningful relationships and helping organizations navigate transformation in an evolving digital landscape. We value collaboration, curiosity and a results-driven mindset that empowers both our clients and our people to succeed.

We are seeking a Client Director to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the principal consultant and senior point of accountability for a portfolio of client accounts that you will both build and grow. This is a sell-and-lead role: you will identify and win new work, whether with new clients or through new opportunities within existing ones, and then step onto the team to lead it, dedicating a defined portion of your week to hands-on engagement oversight once the work is sold. You will develop a deep understanding of each client's goals, challenges and needs, provide strategic advisory services and own overall delivery quality, client satisfaction and account growth.

The ideal candidate combines executive presence and strategic advisory skills with strong commercial acumen, and has a proven track record of originating new business and growing enterprise accounts through consultative, value-led relationships. This is a senior, client-facing leadership role requiring the ability to build trust with client executives, personally lead the work you sell, guide delivery teams through complex situations and expand Experient's partnership across client organizations.

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; Hybrid work environment with travel as required.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the principal consultant and accountable leader for your portfolio of accounts, both existing and newly won, developing a deep understanding of each client's business, goals, challenges and needs.
  • Act as the trusted advisor and primary point of contact for client leaders, providing strategic points of view and recommendations aligned with Experient's offerings.
  • Facilitate executive workshops and strategic planning sessions to shape client roadmaps and priorities.
  • Hold overall accountability for delivery across all engagements within your accounts, ensuring work meets client expectations, scope and timeline.
  • Oversee engagement leads and delivery teams, providing strategic guidance, quality review and escalation support.
  • Monitor client health and satisfaction through regular account reviews, identifying risks early and leading recovery plans to protect client relationships.
  • Develop and maintain account plans for each client in your portfolio, including relationship maps, whitespace analysis and risk mitigation.
  • Expand relationships across client organizations, proactively building a network beyond your current sponsors and functional area into other business units, departments and executive leaders to uncover new needs, initiatives and buying centers.
  • Manage the account pipeline end to end, from lead identification and qualification through proposal, negotiation and close, maintaining accurate forecasts and account activity in the CRM.
  • Originate new business by identifying and pursuing opportunities with new clients and in untapped areas of existing accounts, then stay with the work you sell, joining the engagement team in a leadership role and providing ongoing hands-on oversight to ensure what was sold is delivered.
  • Partner with capability leads and delivery teams to shape solutions, scopes and proposals aligned to client objectives.
  • Lead SOW development, pricing and commercial negotiations, including renewals, extensions and change orders.
  • Track client industry trends, competitive landscape and organizational changes to inform advisory, account strategy and outreach.
  • Serve as a Project Coach and Career Coach, mentoring team members and fostering a culture of feedback and learning.

What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years of experience in consulting, client services or account leadership, including leading client engagements.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a principal or lead consultant for enterprise client accounts in a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of enterprise accounts and complex stakeholder environments.
  • Strong strategic advisory skills, with the ability to understand complex business challenges and translate them into actionable recommendations.
  • Track record of accountability for delivery quality and client satisfaction across multiple concurrent engagements.
  • Proven ability to win new clients and grow existing client accounts through consultative, value-led relationships.
  • Experience both selling engagements and personally leading them after the close, balancing business development with hands-on delivery oversight.
  • Demonstrated success expanding into new functions or business units within an existing client, building relationships well beyond the original sponsor.
  • Executive presence with the ability to build trust with senior client stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including pricing, SOW structuring and margin management.
  • Experience managing pipeline and forecasting using CRM tools.
  • Knowledge of experience design, product development and/or management consulting and transformation services; ability to lead and sell across all of these capabilities preferred.
  • Flexibility to work on-site (Experient office or client site) and travel as required to support client relationships and engagements.
  • Treats everyone including clients, colleagues and partners, as their customer.
  • Self-motivated to make meaningful impacts and deliver positive outcomes with their work.
  • Motivated by career progression and actively works toward the next level.
  • A constant learner who stays curious about new platforms, practices and business models.
  • Considers no task beneath them and contributes at whatever level the engagement requires.
