Construction Electrician Journeyperson

Sasco Contractors Ltd, serves the industrial, commercial, and institutional markets all over BC, specializing in distribution upgrades, commercial one-off new builds, tenant improvements, server rooms and data communication in "mission critical environments", complicated fire alarm upgrades, EV car chargers, and electrical service and maintenance.

We work in a fast-paced environment, local to Burnaby and surrounding areas, with other offices in Kamloops & Vancouver Island. We are a tight-knit team of respectful and humble people working in coordination & sometimes independently, with a positive, solution focused, process-oriented approach and growth mindset.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and specifications.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Work shall include but not necessarily be bound by the following:

• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
• Experience in cable pulls in various environments.
• Experience in conduit bending with hand benders and hydraulic benders.
• Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.
• Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.
• Splice, join and connect wire to various components to form circuits.
• Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, following installation, replacement or repair.
• Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Valid Red Seal Endorsement (RSE) as a Construction Electrician.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with fellow employees, suppliers and customers.
• Self-motivated and a has “let’s make it happen” attitude.
• Eager to learn new skills and new best practices.
  
• Punctual and ready to work.
• Must be willing to work off hours if required including weekends.
