Consultant Opportunity: Regional Marketing Manager (Greater China)

Griffith University is seeking to engage a locally based consultant to undertake marketing and agent support activities for the recruitment of international students. This is a great opportunity for a high performing individual to work with the dynamic Griffith International team and make an impact in the lives of future Griffith University students. 

Griffith University has a long and highly valued relationship with Greater China, through research and collaboration, and an ever-growing network of alumni. With a locally based representative, Griffith International will provide increased support to its education agents and strategic partners, enhance the standing of the University’s profile, and assist with the recruitment of students and provision of international student support. 

This is a full-time, one-year contract position based in either Shanghai, East China region or Beijing, and will require regular travel China when required. Travel to Australia may also be required occasionally.

The role

The consultant is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing plans and initiatives to support the recruitment of international students from China. The consultant will work closely with the Regional Director (Greater China and Mongolia), to support and manage the University’s agent network, and strategic partners and stakeholders, in effectively counselling and supporting new students in their decision and plans to undertake study at Griffith University.

About You
You are an experienced international marketing professional with a deep understanding of the education sector, especially within China. You thrive in cross-cultural settings and can independently manage a complex workload under broad direction.

To succeed, you will have:

• A relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated experience in international education marketing and student recruitment.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin.
• Demonstrated success in achieving student recruitment, conversion and enrolment outcomes, preferably within the international education sector.
• Proven ability to identify recruitment opportunities and develop effective marketing strategies.
• Proven ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with education agents, institutional partners and other stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of the Australian higher education landscape and compliance frameworks.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• A valid work permit for China or the ability to obtain one.
• Ability and willingness to undertake regular domestic and international travel.

What We Offer

A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated on a fee for service basis with the successful consultant. This is not an expatriate package position.
