Position Summary: A 1099 contracted onsite counselor providing confidential, short-term counseling, consultation, and employee support services at a designated client worksite. The contracted counselor serves as a visible and accessible mental health resource for employees, promoting emotional well-being, resilience, and workplace effectiveness.
While onsite hours are scheduled to meet workplace needs, the role offers professional independence to easily maintain outside clients and business ventures during noncontracted hours. The role functions as an extension of established EAP services with the designated organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide confidential short-term counseling services to eligible employees.
- Conduct brief drop-in consultations and scheduled counseling sessions.
- Assess employee concerns and provide appropriate support, resources, and referrals.
- Respond appropriately to employees experiencing emotional distress or crisis situations.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with professional, legal, and organizational standards.
- Promote awareness and utilization of onsite counseling services through outreach and employee engagement activities.
- Collaborate with designated organizational contacts while maintaining employee confidentiality.
- Provide consultation regarding workplace wellness and behavioral health concerns when appropriate.
- Maintain a professional onsite presence during contracted hours.
- Adhere to all applicable ethical, legal, licensing, confidentiality, and privacy requirements.

Qualification Requirements
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
- Current unrestricted professional license in the state(s) where services are provided, including but not limited to LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LCPC, PsyD, or PhD.
- Minimum of three (3) years of post licensure counseling experience
- Experience providing short-term solution-focused counseling
- Ability to work independently in a workplace-based counseling setting
- Professional liability insurance meeting organizational requirements
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to client locations.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and any additional screening requirements as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), workplace behavioral health, or organizational wellness programs.
- Experience providing onsite counseling services in corporate, manufacturing, healthcare, public safety, or government environments.
- Training and/or experience in crisis response, trauma-informed care, or critical incident stress management.
- Familiarity with workplace mental health trends and employee wellness initiatives.
