About this role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database systems
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers for data analysis and reporting
- Automate recurring reports and data extraction processes from raw data sources
- Monitor and enhance database performance, applying patches, upgrades, and configuration changes as needed
- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability across all platforms
- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to support application and reporting requirements
- Maintain thorough documentation of database configurations, processes, and standards
- Support disaster recovery planning, backups, and data restoration procedures
Job Competencies & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role
- Proven expertise with Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Strong command of SQL, including query optimization, performance tuning, and automation
- Experience with ETL tools and data integration platforms
- Programming proficiency in Python, Java, or PHP
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline
- Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion
- Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work independently and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of financial services, insurance, or remittance operations is an asset
