Smiths has grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company to a multifaceted group with family values still firmly at the heart of each project undertaken. With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.

We're looking for hardworking and reliable Demolition Operatives to join our growing Demolition team.

Working on a variety of demolition projects across the South West and Wales, you'll play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of site strip-outs, demolition works and site clearance activities. Whether you're an experienced demolition operative or looking to develop your career within the industry, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities for a Demolition Operative:

• Assisting with soft strip, demolition and site clearance works.

• Operating hand tools and demolition equipment safely.

• Segregating and managing waste materials for recycling and disposal.

• Maintaining high standards of site housekeeping.

• Supporting site set-up, fencing, signage and barriers.

• Following site instructions and safe systems of work.

• Reporting hazards, near misses and unsafe conditions.

• Working as part of a team to deliver projects safely, efficiently and on schedule.

What We're Looking For:

• A valid CSCS card is required, support can be provided to help the right candidate obtain one.

• Full UK Driving Licence.

• A strong work ethic and positive attitude.

• Commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.

• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
