The Role

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Risk and Compliance and assist with monitoring and supervision of the Company’s Compliance Policies and Procedures, AML Audits, Quality Assurance Testing, Special Projects and Staff Advisory. They will also be expected to stay current with all the legal and regulatory changes impacting Cayman’s AML Regime.

Management and Oversight:

  • Assist the Head of Risk and Compliance to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework aligned with CIMA regulations, Cayman’s AML Regime and international best practices
  • Act as Deputy AMLCO and Deputy MLRO to the Corporate, Trust and Fund business lines, in due course
  • Provide oversight and guidance to several key Compliance projects
  • Help to determine/assess Regulatory, Compliance and Sanctions risks for the Company and assist the Board with developing strategies to mitigate the identified risks
  • Assist with the production of our AML Business risk assessment and our Enterprise-wide risk assessment
  • Work closely with the Operations team to develop and monitor compliance systems and controls
  • Assist with the production and/or review of key Compliance reports, Management information and Board reporting
  • Oversee the annual assessment and KPIs of outsourced partners
  • Help to monitor and manage our Sanctions/PEPs/Adverse Media Screening program
  • In your role as DMLRO, receive internal SARs, assess and file external SARs/DAML SARs, as necessary

Communication and Training/Development

  • Work closely with and maintain good relationships with local Competent Authorities
  • Work closely with the Regional Compliance team on group projects and initiatives
  • Help coordinate with the Internal Audit team to prepare for, assist during and resolve any audit findings in a timely manner
  • Keep abreast of all Cayman AML, CFT, CPF and Sanctions regulatory updates
  • Train staff on their compliance and regulatory obligations, and develop new training materials

Training, Experience and Skills Required:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or professional AML certification is preferred (e.g., ICA, ACAMS, CAMS-Audit)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ compliance experience with a Cayman Islands regulated TCSP
  • Experience working with a variety of Cayman Islands Corporate, Trusts and Fund Structures, including complex structures
  • Ability to provide AML advisory support for a diverse client-facing teams
  • Experience coordinating/facilitating all phases of a CIMA AML Inspection
  • Working knowledge of LSEG World Check One Screening Tool is essential
  • Experience facilitating an Internal Audit Team is a plus
  • Experience using the FRA’s AMLive system would be helpful
  • In-depth knowledge of AML, CFT, CPF, Sanctions and regulatory requirements in the Cayman Islands
  • Problem-solving skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines and work some overtime will be required
  • Professional and enthusiastic communicator who can work independently but also within a close-knit team
  • Project management training and/or experience would be beneficial
  • Leadership skills to help foster an effective and positive compliance team
  • Ability to provide leave cover for the Head of Risk and Compliance

Remuneration:

Compensation will be offered based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience and overall suitability for the position and will be in the US$120,000-140,000 range.

This is a full-time position at our George Town office, Monday-Friday 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. Qualified
