Despatch Storeperson (Night Shift)

About the Role

Join our busy Plate Processing site in Christchurch and play a key role in ensuring customer orders are loaded, dispatched, and delivered safely and on time.

This is a hands-on role in a heavy industrial environment where you'll be operating forklifts, loading and unloading trucks, moving steel products, and preparing orders for dispatch. You'll work closely with production and transport teams to keep freight moving efficiently.

This is a permanent night shift position working Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm to 12:30am. Enjoy a three-day weekend every week!

What You'll Do

• Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other site equipment
• Pick, pack, and prepare steel orders for dispatch
• Move steel plate and other heavy materials throughout the site
• Check orders for accuracy before dispatch
• Assist with stock movements and inventory control
• Follow safe operating procedures at all times
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience loading and unloading trucks using a forklift
• Full New Zealand driver's licence (required to obtain Forklift F Endorsement and Operator Certificate)
• Experience working in a warehouse, dispatch, manufacturing, steel, or logistics environment
• Physically fit and capable of safely handling the heavy nature of the role
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to accurately pick and prepare orders
• Overhead crane experience is highly regarded
• Reliable attendance and strong punctuality
• Currently residing in NZ or holding a valid work visa
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test
