VBH is a licensed behavioral health organization providing residential and crisis services throughout Virginia. Our mission is rooted in the belief that “it takes a village” to foster healing, stability, and recovery through person-centered, trauma-informed care.


📍 Locations

We are currently hiring to support our homes in:

  • North Chesterfield
  • Richmond
  • Highland Springs
  • Henrico


⏰ Schedule & Availability

  • Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • Full-time, part-time, and PRN (as-needed) positions available
  • Full-time staff required to work every other weekend (12-hour shifts)
  • Rotating weekend schedule

  • Starting at $17/hour+, based on experience
  • đź’° Performance bonuses available


💼 What You’ll Do

As a DSP, you will provide hands-on, person-centered support, including:

  • Supporting daily living skills (hygiene, meals, housekeeping, medication routines)
  • Teaching independence, communication, and life skills
  • Assisting with community activities (shopping, events, appointments, recreation)
  • Promoting a safe, structured, and supportive environment
  • Monitoring health and behavioral changes and reporting concerns
  • Completing accurate, timely documentation

✅ What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Experience in ID/DD, behavioral health, or human services preferred
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to pass background checks and screenings


📚 Training & Requirements

  • CPR/First Aid
  • Medication Administration
  • Crisis/Behavioral Intervention Training
    (Training can be provided/maintained per agency and DBHDS requirements)
