About this role

System1 is seeking a highly motivated individual who will play a critical role in our Tax Department.

This position is an onsite role requiring you to work in our headquarters located at 4235 Redwood Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90066.

What You’ll Do:

  • Role will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Tax.

  • Responsible for the completion and review quarterly and year-end provision calculations, tax footnotes and related disclosures.

  • Responsible for the completion and review corporate federal and multi-state income and franchise tax returns.

  • Responsible for the completion and review of federal and state partnership tax returns.

  • Responsible for Up-C tax receivable agreement calculations.

  • Responsible for partnership tax distributions.

  • Oversee the maintenance of the tax department filing calendar and ensure all tax returns, extensions and estimated payments are made in a timely manner.

  • Oversee the compliance and filing of applicable sales & use and VAT.

  • Responsible for handling tax audits and coordinating with various tax authorities.

  • Work closely with various business units, CFO’s and controllers to obtain required tax information.

  • Assist with tax planning.

  • Perform research and work on special projects.

  • Supervision of tax staff.

  • Monitor current and proposed federal, state and local and international tax developments to determine impact on the company.

  • What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 8+ years full-time experience, preferably in a large public accounting firm and/or similar experience with a publicly traded company.

  • Knowledge of corporate and partnership taxation as well as ASC 740 and FIN 48.

  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented person.

  • Ability to operate beyond standard scope of responsibility.

  • Possess strong decision-making skills and be able to operate independently.

  • Highly organized and adept at prioritizing multiple tasks.

  • Strong project management skills. Must be able to take a project from initiation to completion.

  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.

  • Undergraduate Accounting Degree required.

  • CPA/Masters in Taxation Degree preferred.
