ABF Security, a leader in residential and commercial security, fire, access control and entertainment systems across the region, is looking for a relationship-builder experienced with construction projects, electrical systems design and estimating, or an experienced technician looking to move out of the field and use their knowledge on the estimator or sales side of the business to join our Commercial Division at our Fenton, Missouri headquarters. A great background for an Electrical Estimator, Commercial Fire & Life Safety:

-Experience with electrical design and projects, or experience with construction projects and building proposals

-A technician looking to move out of the field and apply that hands-on experience in an estimator and sales-focused role

What you will do:

-Build relationships and develop new opportunities involving fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, intrusion and integrated systems through prospecting, referrals, networking and customer education

-Work with customers, estimators, designers and operations to turn field conditions and project requirements into practical, code-aware solutions that can be sold and installed successfully

-Survey sites, review plans/specifications and lead technical discovery

-Develop system concepts, estimates, proposals and scope narratives

-Prepare or coordinate layouts, shop drawings, submittals, battery calculations and voltage-drop calculations

-Coordinate with customers, engineers, architects, AHJs and construction trades

-Identify scope changes and support change orders

-Own follow-up and maintain visibility into your pipeline and forecast

-Stay engaged from opportunity development through handoff and project coordination

What you bring:

Required:

-Ability to read plans and understand construction coordination

-Strong customer communication, presentation, organization and project-management skills

-A sales mindset: curiosity, follow-through, accountability and comfort asking for the business

Nice to Have:

-2+ years of relevant fire protection/system design experience

-NICET Level II or higher

-Strong knowledge of fire/building codes and NFPA requirements relevant to the work

-Experience with floor-plan/CAD/design software
