Estimating Intern

Speedwell is seeking Project Estimating Interns for the summer of 2027.

Summary/Objective:

Estimating Intern – The Intern will work with the estimating team to support any of the estimating tasks to complete bids. This position will be a summer internship to initiate students into construction and estimating.

Duties:

1. Aid estimators working on bids
2. Make phone calls to subs and suppliers
3. Update the sub list on SmartBid
4. Help create/edit proposals, scope sheets, RFI’s and clarifications
5. Distribute bid documents, RFI’s, and Addendums
6. Prepare bid forms and documents for bid day
7. Scheduling of meetings and estimating events
8. Printing documents for estimators and subcontractors
9. Help with sub-bid tallies and reporting
10. Create hand-off meeting agendas
11. Attend estimating, hand-off, page turner, and other meetings
12. Learn Bluebeam, SmartBid, and Destini estimating software
13. Introduction to other divisions within Speedwell

Qualifications:

1. Good written and verbal communication skills and willingness to make phone calls
2. General construction knowledge, familiar with construction terminology
3. Detail oriented, good organizational skills
4. Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
5. Team player, willing to support any estimator
6. Must align with our core values of respect, diligence, humility, and sense of urgency
