Opening very soon, Heirloom is a coastal kitchen and dining space nestled within a stunning new retirement living community just south of Sydney. With sweeping waterfront views, a Mediterranean soul, and a deep love for shared stories and slow meals, Heirloom is where old traditions meet new memories - open to the public, but grounded in the lives of our residents, their families, and friends.

Our menu is inspired by the warmth and generosity of the Mediterranean - think simple, seasonal ingredients, generous pours of olive oil, and dishes made to linger over. The kind of food that brings people together and tastes like it’s been passed down through generations.

We’re on the lookout for passionate hospitality people to join our founding team - those who understand that great service is about more than just speed. It’s about connection, care, and bringing heart to every plate and every table.

Your opportunity 

As a Café and Functions Assistant, you’ll be doing more than serving coffee – you’ll be creating an atmosphere that feels like home for our residents! Your key responsibilities include:

• Delivering top-notch customer service with warmth and a smile

• Preparing food and beverages with care, including crafting delicious espresso coffee

• Operating our POS system and managing payments effortlessly

• Ensuring the café is always tidy, welcoming, and ready for action – from setup to clean-up

• Supporting events and activities that bring life to our villages!

Who we're looking for:

We’re building a team that feels like family. We’re keen to connect with:

• Waitstaff All-Rounders who know how to read the room, carry three plates like second nature, and bring heart to every interaction. If you can make a proper barista coffee, pour a perfect glass of wine, and hold a conversation that makes someone’s day - you’re our kind of person.
• Food & Beverage Attendants with a calm, confident presence and a genuine love for hospitality. You’ll help set the tone for warm, attentive service, keeping things running smoothly while making our guests feel truly looked after.

If you’ve got a strong work ethic, a soft spot for the seaside, and a natural warmth in the way you connect with others - especially those a little older and wiser - we’d love to hear from you.

What you'll bring

Empathy to interact respectfully with elderly residents, attention to detail to follow dietary requirements, and knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices. You share our organisational values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence, and bring them to everything you do.

What’s required: 

• Responsible Service of Alcohol

• Working with Children Check

• 6 months experience in food service or front of house experience, along with barista skills

What’s preferred: 

• Food Handling Certificate

• Hospitality and customer service experience 

• Your commute is within 20mins of our locations

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• A kind, team-focused attitude and willingness to learn
