Facilities Maintenance Specialist

Classification: Full-time Status: Non- Exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Review and analyze production schedules, estimating work hours required for job assignments.
• Accurately document work time, completed tasks, and materials used for each assignment.
• Adjust work procedures and schedules as needed to meet deadlines and support operational needs.
• Maintain proper inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Make repairs and paint interior and exterior of all agency properties.
• Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, standards, and work orders.
• Maintain and submit completed work orders to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
• Conduct physical inspections of SEK-CAP-owned rental units, accurately reporting results.
• Perform follow-up and re-inspections as needed.
• Clean out and perform repairs on rental properties, ensuring units are ready for new tenants.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the interior and exterior of agency properties, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and window washing.
• Perform grounds/landscaping maintenance, including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, removing weeds, and general outdoor upkeep.
• Ensure compliance with Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and other regulatory requirements.
• Advocate for SEK-CAP within the community to maintain and promote positive public relations.
• Uphold confidentiality and privacy of SEK-CAP, Inc. customers.
• Respect and support cultural differences and diverse family structures.
• Demonstrate reliability through punctuality and adherence to appropriate break times.
• Attend mandatory in-service training and staff meetings as scheduled.
• Report any suspected abuse or neglect to the appropriate authority.
• Uphold and promote the core values and mission of SEK-CAP, Inc.
• Support management decisions in actions and words.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in safely and accurately using carpentry tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to occasionally work irregular hours as needed (in accordance with FLSA overtime requirements).
• Strong organizational skills and resourcefulness in problem-solving.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, community partners, and customers.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving responsibilities.

Desired:

• Knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• Experience in carpentry, home construction, or building maintenance.
• Basic computer skills.
• Familiarity with Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and inspection procedures.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• Have or be willing to obtain Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Inspection Certification; CPR/FA Training.
• Possess a current, valid driver’s license and be insurable by the organization’s motor vehicle insurance carrier.
• Submit to and pass standard criminal history check.
• Submit to and pass a standard drug screen test as requested.
• Submit to and pass health assessment and TB test.

• The work environment may include occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, outdoor weather, and temperature extremes such as heat and cold. The noise level is generally quiet to moderate but can be loud.
