Field Engineer

SUMMARY

Field Engineer I is an entry-level role that supports on-site project execution through documentation, layout assistance, and coordination with field teams. This role is designed to provide foundational exposure to construction operations, safety standards, and project sequencing. Working under the guidance of superintendents and project managers, Field Engineer I
is responsible for tracking site progress, updating logs, assisting with RFIs and submittals, and learning the tools and workflows that drive successful project delivery.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform primary and secondary (horizontal and vertical) building control under supervision.

• Maintain primary control points throughout the project lifecycle.

• Assist with project mobilization and site setup.

• Support job site cleanliness and safety initiatives.

• Help monitor quality control and maintain as-built drawings.

• Assist in field coordination of subcontractors.

• Receive and inventory materials.

• Track timekeeping for hourly personnel.

• Support the generation, processing and tracking of RFI’s and submittals.

• Assist with management of hourly personnel, including carpenters, foreman and laborers.

• Participate in the SOS (Safety Observations System) program.

• Demonstrate basic constructability knowledge, including construction terminology and plan reading.

• Help maintain SWPPP inspections documentation.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture or equivalent experience

• Bilingual preferred but not required
