Field Laborer - Manassas Park

Field Laborer - MUST LIVE IN VIRGINIA

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for directing/controlling traffic and work trucks at excavation site
• Use hand signals and signs to stop and direct traffic
• Loading and unloading materials and equipment
• Digging trenches, compacting earth, and backfilling holes
• Perform general laborer work to include jobsite clean-up and moving of materials by hand
• Assisting skilled trades people in their duties
• Must be willing to perform all labor tasks required by the Foreman

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, such as: stand, bend, stoop, lift, walking for long periods of time.
• Sound knowledge of state traffic regulations and hand signals
• Must be able to use different tools such as: picks, shovels, rakes etc.
• Must ensure that automobiles do not interfere with, or pose a danger to workers
• Maybe required to lift, carry or push/pull supplies, materials equipment and/or items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements:

• Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable
• Must have a high level of awareness
• Must be able to work in different temperatures and changing weather conditions.
• Ability to work well in a team & independently (with minimal supervision)
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with personnel under high stress situations.
