To manage the financial, accounting, administrative, and contractual affairs of the solar power plant company, while overseeing the operational follow-ups related to asset management. This role focuses on maintaining strict financial discipline, ensuring revenue collection, monitoring contractor agreements, and delivering structured management reports.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance, Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate corporate accounting records and handle day-to-day financial operations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports detailing power sales revenue, expenditures, receivables, payments, and liquidity status.
- Manage period-end closing, prepare internal financial statements, and organize documentation for auditors and tax advisors.
- Execute or oversee corporate tax compliance, including VAT, seasonal transactions reporting, social security (SSO), and other statutory requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, banks, brokerages, and relevant regulatory authorities.
2. Revenue Management, Power Sales & Collections
- Follow up on processes related to power sales, energy exchange (IRENEX), SATBA, Tavanir, regional/distribution electricity companies, or other relevant bodies depending on the company's off-take model.
- Verify invoices, sales documentation, generation reports, and track the status of accounts receivable (AR).
- Develop and maintain simple dashboards tracking energy production, sales, receivables, cash collections, and any discrepancies.
3. Document, Permit & Contract Management
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive archive of contracts, permits, insurance policies, official correspondence, meeting minutes, warranties, and plant documentation.
- Track and ensure timely renewals of agreements, insurance, permits, and recurring corporate obligations.
- Draft initial contracts and formal administrative correspondence, coordinating with legal/technical advisors for finalization.
- Monitor contractors' compliance with contractual obligations, documenting any deviations, delays, or claimable events.
4. Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Contractor Oversight
- Oversee the execution of maintenance schedules, panel washing, routine inspections, fault rectifications, site security, and other O&M services delivered by the contractor.
- Monitor contractor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including plant availability, response time, mean time to repair (MTTR), preventive maintenance completion, and documentation quality.
- Regularly review data from the plant's monitoring system to identify production drops or anomalies and escalate them to the technical contractor.
- Conduct periodic site visits and prepare inspection reports outlining operational issues, corrective actions, and matters requiring management decisions.
5. Management Reporting
- Prepare comprehensive monthly reports for executive management and the Board of Directors covering power generation, revenue, collections, expenses, contract statuses, contractor performance, and key risks.
- Provide actionable recommendations to reduce costs, optimize revenue collection, strengthen contractual compliance, and mitigate operational risks.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience (Required)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate accounting, finance, or financial administration; preference given to experience within manufacturing, project-based, contracting, energy, or infrastructure companies.
- Technical Skills: Proven proficiency in bookkeeping, financial reporting, corporate tax, VAT, seasonal transaction reporting, and audit preparation.
- Soft Skills: Strong follow-up capabilities, rigorous organizational and documentation skills, formal business writing skills, and experience in contract monitoring.
- Tools: Proficient in MS Excel and standard accounting software.
- Travel: Willingness and availability to travel periodically for power plant site visits.
- Traits: Detail-oriented, highly responsible, self-motivated, and capable of driving tasks independently to completion.
Preferred Skills & Assets (Nice to Have)
- Familiarity with the power industry, solar assets, SATBA, Tavanir, energy exchange (IRENEX), or Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
- Experience working with project-based companies, EPC, O&M, or technical contractors.
- Basic understanding of solar asset performance metrics (e.g., daily yield, efficiency, availability, downtime, and monitoring system reports).
- Experience in contract administration, insurance claims, performance bonds/guarantees, progress invoices, and claims management.
Success Criteria (First 6 Months)
- Full establishment and streamlining of the accounting system, document archive, and tax/contractual calendar.
- Consistent delivery of structured monthly reports on production, revenue, receivables, expenses, and operational risks.
- Complete clarity and up-to-date tracking of O&M agreements, insurance policies, permits, and contractor obligations.
- Implementation of a clear, systematic process for tracking power sales and speeding up revenue collection.
- Reduced dependence of senior management on day-to-day granular follow-ups.
