THE ROLE OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our team as the F&B Assistant Manager. As part of the F&B management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and operations of our food and beverage outlets, assisting with training seasonal staff, and conduct financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have experience in a leadership role at a food and beverage venue, excellent communication skills and a warm and welcoming personality. The ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment is highly important. In addition to your managerial duties, you may also be required to assist with food and beverage service, bar operations, and other related tasks in the event that one of the venues is in need of extra help. As some of our establishments operate during breakfast hours, the F&B Assistant Manager will also be scheduled to work in the morning.


F&B ASSISTANT MANAGER DUTIES

1. Menu Planning and Development: Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to create innovative and attractive menus. Ensure menu offerings are diverse, appealing, and aligned with customer preferences.


2. Inventory Management: Implement efficient ordering and stock rotation procedures. Monitor and control food and beverage inventory levels.


3. Cost Control: Establish and manage budgetary guidelines for the food and beverage department. Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining quality.


4. Quality assurance: Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and service. Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to hygiene and safety regulations.


5. Customer Service: Train and supervise staff in delivering exceptional customer service. Address customer complaints and feedback promptly and professionally.


6. Vendor Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.


7. Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports, including revenue and expense statements. Analyze financial data to make informed decisions and adjustments.


WHAT YOU NEED

  • Legal right to live and work in Japan (typically via a Working Holiday Visa)
  • Japanese or international license required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience managing in the restaurant or bar industry
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, evenings, mornings, weekends, and holidays, as per the requirements of the establishment
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced and dynamic work environment and to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (such as kegs or cases of beverages), and handle the physical demands of the job
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team, manage daily operations, and make effective decisions.
  • Familiarity with cash registers, POS systems, and the ability to handle cash and provide change
  • Ability to commit until March 31, 2027

    ASSISTANT MANAGER SHIFTS

    The Food and Beverage Assistant Manager position is a full-time position that requires up to 40-hours a week across 5 days. During busy periods, the assistant may be required to work up to 6 days a week.


    ACCOMMODATION

    We provide staff accommodation to all employees who need it, offering various options in Happo Village and Upper Wadano. Depending on your role, you will be assigned dormitory-style rooms, shared rooms with one or two roommates, or private rooms. The specific room assignment will be determined based on the seniority level of the position you are hired for.
