As a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion advisor, you'll be working with Hiwot Ethiopia team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The overall purpose of this placement is to support the integration and mainstreaming of gender equality and social inclusion principles across Hiwot Ethiopia’s programs and operations. The objective is to strengthen organizational capacity in gender audit and analysis, gender policy, gender-sensitive project design, implementation, data tracking, and knowledge development and sharing.

As an e-volunteer, you will support the organization through the following activities:
- Lead the organization's programs focused on gender and social inclusion, and develop activities to promote gender equality and social inclusion.
- Provide technical support to the management team and staff in implementing gender-responsive and inclusive strategies, as well as enhancing the knowledge management system.
- Conduct a gender audit and analysis, review the organization’s gender policy, and ensure its integration across all operational areas.
- Collaborate closely with the resource mobilization team to develop and scale up gender-sensitive and inclusive project and program plans.
- Offer technical assistance and capacity development to Hiwot and partner organizations through training, mentoring, and coaching on gender and inclusion.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Sociology, Social Development, International Development, Public Policy, Economics, Human Rights, or related social sciences with a gender focus.
- Master’s degree is an asset
Essential Background:
- Three years of relevant experience in gender and social inclusion, including at least one year at the international level.
- Significant experience in conducting gender audits and analyses with experience in designing and formulating gender policies, as well as monitoring and evaluating gender policies and programs.
- Background in working with multilateral or bilateral development institutions in developing countries.
- Proven ability to mobilize resources that are responsive to gender and social inclusion issues.
