McLean School (mcleanschool.org), a K-12 co-educational independent school in Potomac, Maryland, seeks applicants for the Head Coach for Girls Varsity Basketball position.

The Head Coach for Girls Varsity Basketball is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and directing the Upper School Girls Basketball Program.

This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics, Coaching, and Mentoring.

Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have
experience as a Head Coach for Girls Varsity Basketball, College Coach, or Club-Level Coach, effective written and oral communication skills, a connection to the youth and local basketball community, an ability to build relationships and work well with others, a sharp perspective on the role of athletics in the educational experience.

Essential Duties

• Provide positive leadership to the Varsity Program
• Oversee the entire Girls Basketball Program, including our Middle School and Junior Varsity Program
• Serve as an Ambassador for the School and the Program by connecting and following up with interested scholar-athletes and families
• Conduct out-of-season programs within league rules such as strength and conditioning, summer leagues, and pre- and post-season workouts
• Embrace the Core Values of McLean School and model behaviors consistent with those values
