Head of AI Deployment
AI Summary
Leads a team of 4–6 customer success and implementation professionals to deploy an AI operating system for capital programs in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, owning post-sale relationships, data strategy, and renewals.
About this role
About Gryps
Gryps is an AI operating system for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. Institutional owners such as hospital systems, universities, and airport authorities run multi-billion-dollar capital programs on data scattered across emails, spreadsheets, network drives, and disconnected systems of record. Gryps connects that information and gives owner teams an AI operating system for their capital programs, so they can find answers, manage risk, automate their work and make decisions faster.
We are a product-focused organization that dreams big and achieves those dreams. Our customers are large players in the construction industry. This is an opportunity to be part of a nimble team where every individual is an expert in their area. We work fast, iterate quickly, and create a product that transforms how our customers work through AI.
This is the place for you if you’ve worked in a role at the intersection of AI, automation, data analytics, construction tech, construction management, and innovative technology—and you’re looking for the next leap in your career. You will have direct influence over the growth of Gryps within customer organizations, our product roadmap, and impact on the Gryps bottom line.
We’re a growing company backed by Primary Ventures, LDV Capital, Pear VC, and other top investors. You will work directly with the CEO and our customers—large organizations that own and operate hospitals, universities, and public infrastructure.
The Role
We're hiring a Head of AI Deployment to lead a team of 4–6 in turning Gryps deployments into measurable value for our customers. You'll own the full post-sale relationship: understanding each customer's program, designing the data strategy behind their deployment, identifying the use cases that matter most, guiding the implementation team to fast, repeatable time to value, and measuring the success of the deployment.
This is a player-coach role. You'll work directly with owner executives and program leaders while developing early-career professionals into strong implementers and advisors. You'll also be accountable for renewals and expansion, because customers who get real value are the ones who grow with us.
What You'll Do
Lead and develop the team
Manage, coach, and grow a team of 4–6 customer success and implementation professionals, many early in their careers. Set clear expectations, give direct feedback, and build their construction domain knowledge and client-facing confidence.
Build the playbooks, standards, and rituals that make delivery consistent: onboarding frameworks, implementation checklists, account reviews, and health scoring.
Define value and data strategy
Work with customers to find the highest-value use cases across their capital programs, such as cost and change tracking, schedule risk, document and contract intelligence, closeout, and portfolio reporting. Prioritize them by business impact and feasibility.
Design the data strategy for each use case: which sources to connect, how unstructured and structured data is organized and validated, and how outputs tie back to the customer's systems of record and decisions.
Turn customer outcomes into clear, quantified value stories that executives and champions can carry into their own organizations.
Own customer relationships
Serve as trusted advisor and executive sponsor for your accounts, from project and program managers up to VPs of Facilities, Capital Planning, and Real Estate.
Lead executive business reviews that connect product usage to program outcomes and set the agenda for what comes next.
Represent the customer's voice internally, partnering with Product and Engineering on requirements, feedback, and roadmap priorities.
Drive product engagement and implementation efficiency
Own adoption and engagement metrics across your book of business. Spot drifting accounts early and step in before they become risks.
Run implementation for speed and repeatability. Remove bottlenecks, standardize what can be standardized, and keep shortening time to first value and time to full deployment.
Own renewals and expansion
Own gross and net revenue retention for your accounts, including renewal forecasting, negotiation, and execution.
Find and close expansion opportunities such as new use cases, departments, programs, or campuses, working with Sales on commercial strategy and contracting.
What You Bring
8+ years of construction domain experience, with a deep understanding of how capital projects are planned, delivered, and closed out, and the data that flows through each phase.
An engineering or quantitative background, such as a degree in civil, mechanical, or construction engineering, construction management, or another analytical field, plus comfort reasoning about data structures, metrics, and systems.
Executive presence. You're credible with senior owner leadership, can run a boardroom conversation, and can hold a point of view under pressure.
A track record of coaching early-career professionals and building teams that measurably improve under your leadership.
Clear, structured communication, written and verbal. You explain complex technical and data concepts simply to field teams and executives alike.
Experience designing data strategies, or a proven ability to connect business problems to data sources, workflows, and outcomes.
Commercial ownership. You're comfortable being accountable for renewal and expansion revenue.
Nice to Have
Experience at an owner organization, such as a health system, university, airport, public agency, or large real estate owner, managing capital programs from the owner's side.
Experience implementing or managing construction technology platforms such as Procore, e-Builder, Unifier, Kahua, or enterprise data and AI tools.
Familiarity with BIM, digital twins, GIS or facilities and asset management data.
Experience at an early-stage or high-growth software company.
How Success Looks in Your First Year
Customers reach first measurable value on a predictable, shortened timeline.
Every account has a documented use-case roadmap and data strategy tied to executive-level outcomes.
Your team runs on shared playbooks, and each team member has grown noticeably in skill and independence.
Strong gross retention and meaningful net expansion across your book of business.
