Sefton Sixth Form College is seeking a Head of Faculty to lead a diverse and high-profile curriculum area, driving excellence in teaching, learning and student achievement.

Experience of working within a STEM subject area would be advantageous, but is not essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the educational experience of hundreds of young people while leading and developing talented teaching staff within a thriving sixth form environment. You'll play a pivotal role in setting standards, driving continuous improvement and ensuring students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

As Head of Faculty, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a facility creating a culture where high expectations, innovation and collaboration thrive.

You will:
  • Lead and inspire curriculum teams to deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Drive student achievement, progress, attendance and high-grade performance across the faculty.
  • Use performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective strategies for success.
  • Champion quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
  • Develop and support staff, creating an environment where colleagues feel valued, challenged and empowered to excel.
  • Build strong partnerships that enhance the student experience and enrich learning opportunities.

We are looking for a confident and credible educational leader who can motivate others and deliver measurable impact.

You will bring:
  • A degree and recognised teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience of leading curriculum quality improvement.
  • A track record of raising standards and improving performance.
  • Strong understanding of achievement, progress measures and value-added performance.
  • Experience of managing and developing staff to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and leadership skills.
  • A passion for student success and an unwavering commitment to educational excellence.
