What You Can Expect:
Main duties: To include, but not limited to
- To lead the Commercial Division of the Irish Overland business
- To work collaboratively with the Ireland Senior management team
- To work collaboratively with the European Overland sales organization
- To develop and execute the commercial strategy ensuring information is clear, communicated and transparent to all stakeholders
- To maximize opportunities for growth and development of revenue, GP and profitability (existing and new customers) through volume and Product development.
- To execute the business plan to drive revenue, gross margin and overall company profitability.
- To work in collaboration with the branch and operational managers to ensure alignment and effective customer onboarding and ongoing customer service across Ireland.
- Ensure there is a robust and credible pipeline of opportunities with new customers and markets
- Ensure regular exchanges with the existing customer base and identify and develop opportunities for upselling/expanding existing customer relationships
- To ensure that key stakeholders are aware of customer performance and risks, providing regular reviews and analysis of commercial sales activities and associated targets
- To ensure that new business activities, commercial projects and solutions are implemented, aligned and managed effectively.
- Participate in tender related activities and provide associated contractual advice
- To ensure that the business is fully supported and guided on all commercial issues and strategies
- In conjunction with the business needs, motivate and measure the commercial division to deliver in line with the business development plan
- Any other tasks deemed appropriate for the role of Head of Sales to identify opportunities for growth
What You Bring:
Key Competencies & Skills
- Experience of working in a large multi-site international Overland organisation with a focus on road freight
- Proven successful track record of working in sales, with an understanding of the strategic approach to long term objectives
- Experience of leading a commercial team with successful results, risk and value add
- Results driven approach
- Ability to successfully convert sales opportunities into profitable business
- Strong commercial skills and business acumen are necessary as is the ability to identify and maximise new opportunities
- Ability to work independently and present results to stakeholders in a structured format
Qualifications & Experience
- Must demonstrate extensive industry knowledge and experience, freight and warehousing.
- Must have held a commercial role at a senior level previously
- Track record of achieving sales targets and objectives
- Education at Graduate level (or equivalent) or above or appropriate industry experience
