About the Role:
Ruach Resources is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep our yellow iron running. That includes loaders, dozers, excavators, articulated haul trucks, graders, and the crushing and screening equipment that keep our gravel pits producing across northwest North Dakota. Most of the season you'll be in the field at the pits, working out of a fully outfitted service truck and keeping production moving. In winter, you'll move into our new heated shop for annual maintenance and major repairs. You'll be home every night, with no overnight travel. This role is for someone who likes working independently and takes pride in keeping machines running.

When a crusher goes down, the whole operation feels it. Our crew takes pride in getting equipment back up fast. Sometimes that means a smart field fix to keep production rolling while parts are on backorder, or running a tired machine carefully until its rebuild in the winter. We need someone who's resourceful, stays calm under pressure, and would rather find a way than wait for perfect conditions. We want you to tell us straight what the risk is, and then help us make it work. We never gamble with anyone's safety, but a worn engine that makes it to winter is a win.

From classic 980Cs to late-model 980Ms, you'll work on iron from every era. If you can diagnose an old-school machine by sound and feel and also plug a laptop into a new one, you'll fit right in.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, powertrains, and electrical systems
• Help keep the crushing spread running: crushers, screens, conveyors, and telestackers
• Perform preventive maintenance, fluid sampling, and inspections
• Handle field repairs at pit sites to reduce downtime
• Carry out winter rebuilds and major component work in the shop
• Keep accurate service and repair records in our fleet software
• Work with operators and supervisors to spot problems early

Qualifications:

• Experience as a heavy equipment mechanic; CAT, Komatsu, or Volvo experience a big plus
• Strong diagnostic skills in diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Resourceful problem-solver who can get equipment running with what's on hand
• Able to work independently and manage your own day in the field
• Comfortable working outdoors in North Dakota weather
• Valid driver's license
• Low-voltage electrical troubleshooting on equipment, crushing spreads, and telestackers a plus
• Crusher, screen plant, or welding experience a plus
• CDL a plus
• Newer to the trade but have a solid mechanical background? We'll still talk to you.
