The homemaker performs the combined duties of dining services, housekeeping and laundry. As cook, the homemaker will prepare food for household meals and snacks that are healthy and appetizing and served in a timely manner, maintaining high quality standards and portion control using standardized recipes. Assumes general responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Household Coordinator. The homemaker promotes the residents' psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building, always providing support, friendship and kindness for each of the household members. Plans and facilitates activities for residents and the household that involve food preparation or other activities specific to the kitchen. Performs housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and neatness of household surroundings.
People with experience in senior living, family and aging services, mental health, children’s services, the arts, or teaching are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
• High School or GED preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrates strong communication and relationship building skills with residents, and is able to explain residents needs to others as needed for resident advocacy.
• Commitment to person-centered and resident-directed care.
