Role summary
This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional looking to partner with a growing manufacturing operation and shape the people agenda from the ground up. The HR Business Partner will support AFAB India by driving workforce readiness, talent initiatives, organisational effectiveness, employee relations, and culture-building efforts for the manufacturing site.
The role will work closely with plant leadership, functional leaders, and global stakeholders to ensure people strategies support business growth, operational excellence, workforce compliance, and employee engagement. This HRBP will serve as the primary people leader for AFAB India, partnering with leadership to build the workforce, culture, and organizational capability required to support rapid site growth and long-term business success.

Key Responsibilities

Role expectations
  • Partner with AFAB leadership and global stakeholders to align people strategies with business and operational priorities.
  • Lead workforce planning and organisational design to support site ramp-up, expansion, and long-term growth from ground up
  • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to hire and onboard critical leadership and technical talent.
  • Support leadership onboarding and integration to accelerate effectiveness and business readiness.
  • Strengthen leadership capability and team effectiveness. Drive talent reviews, succession planning and leadership pipeline development.
  • Lead employee relations activities, including performance management, workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and manager guidance.
  • Build a positive, high-performance culture focused on engagement, inclusion, accountability, and employee experience.
  • Drive change management initiatives associated with business growth, operational readiness, and organisational evolution.
  • Develop and implement engagement and retention initiatives to support attraction and retention of key talent.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, employment regulations, company policies, and people governance requirements.
  • Partner with Legal, Ethics & Compliance, and HR Operations teams to proactively manage employee and compliance risks.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Development, HR Ops, and global HR teams to deliver business outcomes.
  • Support implementation of enterprise HR programmes, processes, and best practices.
  • Leverage people data and workforce insights to support business decisions and workforce planning.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR Business Partner experience in manufacturing, MedTech, medical devices, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations, plant start-ups, greenfield projects, or large-scale business expansion initiatives.
  • Experience managing blue-collar workforces, labour law compliance, contract workforce governance, and employee relations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of employee relations, labour law compliance, and workforce management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with senior leaders and influence business decisions through people strategies.
  • Experience working in a matrixed and global environment, collaborating with stakeholders across regions and time zones.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced growth environment.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into practical people solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using data to drive decisions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
  • Self-starter with a proactive, outcome-oriented approach and strong execution capability.


Complementary skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and HR analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with HR metrics, workforce analytics, and data visualisation.
  • Strong process orientation with attention to detail and execution excellence.
  • Experience driving process improvements, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, identify opportunities, and influence stakeholders effectively.
