Interior Designer

Lewis Builders, a Design & Build firm located in Carmel, CA, is looking for a new Interior Designer to join our growing team.

As an Interior Designer, you will produce interior design deliverables for custom residential new construction and remodeling projects, working under the direction of our Director of Interior Design. This is a hands-on role with real ownership of your assigned work, and it is the development path toward Lead Interior Designer for those who show strong execution, client skills, and growing design independence.

What you will do:

• Develop selections and set up allowances for assigned projects, carrying selections through to final client approval
• Research, source, and present materials, finishes, and products; request samples and vendor bids promptly
• Produce interior elevations, ID plan sheets, finish schedules, and detail drawings in Chief Architect
• Draft purchase orders and perform material takeoffs, confirming quantities with the project team before release
  
• Support clients and the production team during construction, including material substitutions
• Keep project documents organized and filed in our project management portal
• Build relationships with vendors, showrooms, and trade suppliers

What we are looking for:

• Working to advanced proficiency in residential interior design and selections management
• Working knowledge of Chief Architect
• Familiarity with interior finish materials, products, and vendors used in custom residential construction
• Detail oriented, organized, and able to juggle selections and drawings across multiple projects
• Creative, self-motivated, and solution oriented; you bring options, not just problems
• Professional and personable with clients
