IT Support Apprentice
AI Summary
An IT Support Apprentice at a managed service provider in Oxford handles day-to-day workstation and server upkeep, first-line troubleshooting, client communication, and help desk operations.
About this role
Could you get a business up and running with all the IT solutions it needs in just 8 days? Build out servers, telephone system, ticketing system, finance systems, and a fully operational help desk? It’s a big ask, but we pulled it off when we set up digitalphobia as a local IT support company in 2016.
But setting up digitalphobia wasn’t just a case of needs must. After years working for IT companies both big and small, we felt that there was a better way of providing managed IT solutions. A way built on transparency, candour and trust.
It’s why the first thing we build is relationships. We want to work with you, not for you. We want to fully understand how you work with IT now, and how you plan to use it in the future. We want to ensure you understand everything that’s going on, so you can make informed decisions.
About the role:
We are an Oxford-based MSP looking to expand our technical team and are recruiting for the role of IT Support Apprentice, operating out of our Botley-based offices. The successful applicant’s primary responsibility will be the day-to-day upkeep of our client’s workstations and servers. As a core member of a growing team, you will also work closely alongside our Service Delivery Manager to help maintain and improve the support services.
Responsibilities:
Perform 1st line duties
Communicate with our clients verbally (via telephone) and written (via emails/tickets)
Troubleshoot hardware and software issues remotely and in person (where required)
Maintain client expectations: provide regular updates on ticket statuses and outline expected response times
Monitor and maintain the support email queue
Create and update internal and client-facing documentation
Perform daily reviews of backup statuses and other system-critical functions
What we are looking for:
A high demonstrable standard of written and verbal communication
A passion for IT
