Overview

A private family with 3 children, ages 2, 4, and 7, is seeking an experienced, warm, and modern minded live-in Nanny. The family's 4-year-old son has some speech delay and speech processing delay, currently improving, and he will be starting kindergarten next year. He is intelligent and sensitive, and the family is looking for a caregiver with a strong understanding of child development who can support him with patience and warmth.

This is a full-time, live-in position of approximately 40 hours per week, ideally suited for a candidate looking to build a long-term placement of a year or two or more. The family's father travels frequently for work, so live-in help allows for split coverage and flexibility. The family also travels together several times a year, for trips of about a week to 10 days at a time, and is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys and is willing to travel with them.

The family is looking for someone with a friendly, open personality who is comfortable with a close, live-in dynamic. A moderate level of comfort in the water is preferred, as the home has a backyard pool. The household also has a German Shepherd; comfort around dogs is welcomed. A vehicle will be provided for both work-related driving and personal use.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time care for 3 children, ages 2, 4, and 7
• Offer patient, developmentally informed support for the 4-year-old, who has some speech delay and speech processing delay
• Support the children's daily routines, activities, and age-appropriate developmental milestones
• Use a modern, warm approach to discipline and child development
• Handle school drop-offs, pick-ups, and carpool as needed
• Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children, carefully following food-allergy guidelines and specific dietary instructions, including support for a child's egg allergy and ongoing desensitization process
• Travel with the family on trips lasting approximately a week to 10 days at a time
• Help manage coverage during the father's frequent work travel
• Build a genuine, warm relationship with the family in a live-in household setting
• Comfortable being around a family dog (German Shepherd)
• Supervise pool time and be comfortable in the water with the children as needed

Qualifications

• Background or degree in child development, early childhood education, or a related field strongly preferred
• Alternatively, significant hands on experience working with children of similar ages, including some understanding of speech or developmental delays
• Warm, loving, and sweet personality with children
• Friendly, open, and personable, comfortable with a close live-in living situation
• Moderate swimming ability
• Comfortable driving children to school and activities
• Comfortable preparing simple, allergy-conscious meals and snacks and following specific dietary instructions
• Genuine interest in traveling with a family
• Interested in a long term placement, ideally a year or two or more

Requirements

• Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally with the family
• Full legal eligibility to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong verifiable references
• Comfortable relocating if not already local, for the right long term fit
• Comfortable living in a home with a dog

Salary and Benefits

• $35 per hour minimum, live-in
