Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Joinery Draftsman with strong AutoCAD and joinery experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, shop drawings and layouts for custom furniture, cabinetry, joinery. You will translate design concepts and architectural drawings into practical, production-ready technical drawings while coordinating closely with designers, project managers and the production team.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and layouts for custom joinery, furniture and cabinetry projects using AutoCAD.
• Interpret architectural and design drawings to develop accurate and practical shop drawings for production.
• Coordinate with designers, project managers and production teams to ensure drawings meet project specifications and client requirements.
• Calculate dimensions and weight limitations and advise on appropriate hardware, finishes and materials.
• Conduct site measurements when required to ensure dimensional accuracy and alignment with approved designs.
• Revise drawings based on feedback from clients, designers or project managers.
• Ensure technical drawings comply with relevant industry standards, company guidelines and project timelines.
• Maintain accurate documentation and drawing revisions throughout the production cycle.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Drafting, Architecture, Interior Design or a related field.

• 5+ years of relevant experience as a Draftsman within joinery, carpentry, furniture manufacturing or a related industry.
• Mandatory proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of joinery detailing, furniture construction methods and materials.
• Experience producing accurate, high-quality technical and shop drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy.
• Ability to understand architectural/design drawings and convert concepts into production-ready drawings.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of UAE/local building codes and regulations is an advantage.
