Laboratory manager
▪ Manage and coordinate the testing activities in the lab and supervision of further local test activities
▪ Organisation of testing operation, assignment of test benches and personnel
▪ Select, manage and develop qualified staff
▪ Ensure availability of adequate personnel capacities for all lab tasks
▪ Contribute to strategic and operative planning with respect to investments, capacity, technical equipment
▪ Continuous optimization of operational activities (quality, costs, utilization, availability)
▪ Initiate and implement continuous improvement activities
▪ Prepare, review and manage the budget and forecast of the lab
▪ Ensure that the financial goals are met
▪ Tracking and reporting of defined KPIs
▪ Initiate and control cost reduction projects
▪ Keep test equipment on the current state of the art
▪ Support development of measurement and test methods
▪ Steer and support implementation of new measurement and test devices
▪ Implement all necessary measures for compliance with the applicable occupational Safety & Health guidelines.
▪ Support risk assessments, machine approvals
▪ Coordinate testing acitivities in Wigan
Qualifications
▪ University degree, preferably in production or engineering management, industrial engineering or related discipline
▪ Minimum 5 years experience with Testing (Rubber) Products .
▪ Comprehensive experience in rubber and plastic production processes
▪ Cross functional experience e.g. in maintenance, quality, supply chain or CBS preferred
▪ Experience in the roll-out of standards and/or strategic projects
▪ 3 or more years in a leadership position, preferably in in a technical team with functional and disciplinary responsibility for other individuals
▪ Experience in working with international teams on operational or technical topics and understanding of foreign cultures
