Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and file legal documents with state and federal courts (electronically and in person)
- Coordinate and process court filing fees and payments, including submitting payment through court e-filing portals and tracking payment confirmations
- Handle transfer of funds to courts for filing fees, sanctions, and other court-ordered payments
- Coordinate service of process and ensure compliance with applicable rules and deadlines
- Calendar and monitor litigation deadlines, hearings, and court appearances
- Coordinate and reserve hearing dates with courts and opposing counsel
- Maintain organized and accurate case files and records
- Track filings, service, court confirmations, and payment receipts
- Communicate professionally with court personnel, clients, opposing counsel, and internal staff
- Assist attorneys and paralegals with document preparation, correspondence, and administrative tasks
- Support overall case management to ensure timely progression of matters
Requirements
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a law firm or litigation environment preferred
- Familiarity with California state and federal court filing systems
- Experience processing court payments and filing fee transfers preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
