About this role

TMH BEHAVIORAL SERVICES

Licensed Adult & Family Therapist

Independent Contractor (1099)|Hybrid: In-Office & Virtual|Chicago, Illinois

You became a therapist to do clinical work — not to chase referrals, fight with insurance companies, or manage a business. At TMH Behavioral Services, we handle all of that so you can focus on what you actually love: working with clients.

This is private practice — without the headache of running one. We are a culturally relevant, mission-driven behavioral health organization seeking a fully licensed Adult and Family Therapist to join our team as an independent contractor. If you want flexibility, consistent referrals, and zero administrative burden, this role was built for you.

Why Clinicians Choose This Role

Most 1099 arrangements leave clinicians to figure it out alone — build your own caseload, manage your own billing, and hope the referrals come. This is not that.

  • Consistent client referrals provided — commercial insurance and private pay clients. No cold outreach, no marketing, no waiting.
  • Billing and collections fully managed by TMH — we handle insurance credentialing, claims, and follow-up. You just see clients.
  • Professional office space available — for in-person sessions, at no cost to you.
  • Flexible scheduling — no minimum session requirement. Build your caseload at your own pace.
  • Hybrid model — split your time between in-office and virtual sessions based on clinician and client needs.
  • Administrative and operational support — we run the back office so you never have to.
  • Monthly team meeting — paid at an administrative rate. You are compensated for your time, always.
  • Culturally responsive environment — a team and client base that reflects the communities we are committed to serving.
