Job Purpose

Coordinate the end-to-end logistics of the company’s import and export shipments. Act as the primary point of contact between the company and all customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective customs clearance and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

1. Customs Clearance & Logistics Provider Coordination (Core)

• Serve as the single point of contact between the company and all customs brokers, freight forwarders, and clearance agents.

• Review, prepare, and submit full sets of customs clearance documents (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, licenses, etc.).

• Track clearance progress and promptly resolve exceptions (inspections, holds, tariff disputes, missing documents, etc.).

• Evaluate, select, and manage customs and logistics vendors; conduct regular service quality and price comparisons.

• Confirm duties, VAT, surcharges, and other clearance fees with agents to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.

2. Transportation & Warehousing Coordination

• Arrange pickup, transportation, warehousing, and delivery of import/export cargo; track shipments in transit.

• Coordinate with ports, airports, warehouses, and trucking companies to ensure a smooth logistics chain.

• Handle transportation exceptions (delays, damage, loss, etc.) and drive claims.

3. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all import/export operations comply with local customs, inspection, tax, and trade compliance requirements.

• Maintain and update customs clearance documentation for traceability.

• Monitor changes in customs regulations, tariff rates, and regulatory conditions; proactively alert internal teams.

4. Cost & Data Analysis

• Review logistics and customs clearance invoices; control logistics costs.

• Regularly compile data on logistics lead times, costs, and exception rates; produce analysis reports.

• Drive process improvements to enhance clearance efficiency and accuracy.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Maintain close communication with procurement, sales, finance, and warehouse teams to ensure information alignment.

• Assist in handling customer or internal inquiries and complaints regarding logistics timelines and customs issues.

6. Other Duties

• Complete other tasks assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree or above; majors in Logistics Management, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, Business English, or related fields preferred.

Experience

2+ years of experience in logistics, customs clearance, international trade, or supply chain.

Hands-on experience coordinating with customs brokers, clearance agents, and freight forwarders preferred.

Familiarity with full import/export clearance processes (general trade, bonded, return, transit, etc.).

Professional Skills

Knowledge of customs regulations, HS codes, rules of origin, and Incoterms.

Proficiency in ERP, logistics management systems, and MS Office.

Strong document review and data processing skills.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication and cross-cultural coordination skills.

Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work under pressure; capable of handling customs exceptions.

Detail-oriented with strong compliance and risk awareness.

Strong multi-tasking ability; able to track multiple logistics routes simultaneously.
