About this role
Role Purpose:
To perform daily facility operations responsibilities and establish a safe workplace environment according to legal standards; tenants need and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine inspections of buildings, facilities, equipment and common areas to identify defects, faults and maintenance requirements.
- Perform minor corrective and preventive maintenance works, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, fixtures and fittings.
- Attend to maintenance requests and carry out quick repairs where the work falls within the Technician’s skills and authorised scope.
- Troubleshoot basic technical faults and, where necessary, escalate more complex issues to the Facility Coordinator or an approved specialist contractor.
- Assist with preventive maintenance programmes and ensure scheduled maintenance tasks are completed within the required timeframe.
- Check and monitor basic operation of building equipment and systems, including pumps, HVAC -equipment, lighting, doors, locks and other facilities equipment.
- Support external contractors and Service Providers during maintenance or repair works and monitor their access to the premises.
- Maintain proper records of maintenance requests, repairs, interventions, materials used and outstanding issues.
- Report any major defects, safety risks, water leaks, electrical faults or other incidents immediately to the Facility Coordinator.
- Assist with emergency maintenance interventions and take reasonable immediate action to minimise damage or disruption, within the authorised scope.
- Comply with all applicable health and safety requirements, site procedures and instructions of the Facility Coordinator.
Qualifications and Experience:
- National Certificate / National Trade Certificate Level 3+ in a relevant technical field (Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC, Maintenance or Building Maintenance), or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Holder of a valid driving license (Manual & Automatic).
- Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in building, property or facilities maintenance.
Knowledge and Technical Competencies:
- Good knowledge of general building maintenance and repair.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems.
- Knowledge of air-conditioning and ventilation systems.
