Summary:
We're looking for an Engineering Manager who is equally fluent in technical depth and people leadership — someone who can drive architectural decisions, grow senior talent, and deliver complex platform capabilities in a fast-moving, distributed environment. This role oversees project execution, team performance, and cross-functional collaboration, while fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of 10+ engineers (including senior ICs and potentially Tech Leads), owning hiring, performance, and career development

• Drive end-to-end delivery of platform components — from architecture and design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration

• Engage credibly in system design and architecture reviews; set and enforce engineering quality standards across the team

• Partner closely with Product, Design, QA, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions

• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and systemic risks before they become incidents

• Foster a high-ownership engineering culture — model code quality, rigorous testing, and thoughtful operational practices

• Write high-quality code and taking responsibility for their task.

• Coordinate across US–India distributed teams, ensuring alignment, velocity, and clear communication across time zones

• Mentor and develop engineers at all levels

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in engineering leadership managing teams of 7+ engineers

• Strong Java and Spring Boot backend expertise; hands-on ability to engage in design reviews and code-level discussions

• Experience building and operating distributed microservices and event-driven architectures on AWS at scale

• Proficiency with multi-database stacks: MongoDB, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis or similar

• Strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills; experience diagnosing and resolving production-scale performance issues

• Proven track record of recruiting and developing senior engineering talent in competitive markets

• Excellent cross-functional communication — comfortable working directly with Product, Design, and executive stakeholders

• Experience delivering in high-ambiguity, fast-paced SaaS environments with evolving platform dependencies

Good to Have

• Prior experience managing both backend and frontend engineering disciplines (React, Angular) within the same org

• Experience with automotive retail technology, dealership workflows, or adjacent domains

• Exposure to AI/ML platform development or integrating LLM-based capabilities into production systems
