Job Description:

Shield AI is seeking a highly motivated Marketing Data & Analytics Strategy Manager to own the data and analytics strategy for the Marketing organization, and to drive operational execution alongside it. This role will work closely with Marketing leadership and cross-functional partners to define how marketing data is structured, reported, and used to inform decisions.

The ideal candidate combines a strategic mind with hands-on technical fluency. They can sit with stakeholders to define requirements and design how data should be structured and stored, partner closely with technical builders on pipeline and infrastructure decisions, and own cross-functional performance analysis at the CMO level, turning that analysis into clear storylines for the C-suite.

What you'll do:

  • Own the definition of marketing data and reporting requirements. Partner with stakeholders across Marketing and cross-functional teams to translate business questions into clear data specifications, schemas, and reporting structures
  • Design how marketing data is structured, stored, and governed, partnering closely with MarTech, data engineering, and contractors to ensure infrastructure and pipeline decisions map back to business requirements
  • Bring enough technical fluency (SQL, data modeling, ETL concepts) to review technical designs, troubleshoot issues, and be a credible partner to the engineers and vendors building the infrastructure
  • Own the design and maintenance of centralized reporting and dashboards across the marketing funnel, ensuring a consistent, single source of truth for leadership
  • Lead cross-functional performance analyses at the CMO level, synthesizing data across channels and functions into a clear view of what happened, why, and what to do next
  • Prepare executive updates, business reviews, and strategic storylines for Marketing leadership and the C-suite, translating complex data into clear, action-oriented narratives
  • Partner with Marketing leadership on annual and quarterly operating plans, defining metrics and targets and tracking progress against goals
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, instrumentation, and operational efficiency across marketing programs

    • Required qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in marketing analytics, marketing operations, strategy consulting, or a similar role, with a track record spanning both strategic analysis and data/schema ownership
  • Demonstrated experience defining data and reporting requirements with stakeholders and designing how that data should be structured and stored
  • Hands-on technical fluency, including SQL, data modeling, and enough understanding of ETL and data pipeline concepts to partner effectively with engineers and MarTech on build decisions
  • Experience owning executive-level, cross-functional performance analysis, synthesizing data across channels into a strategic narrative for senior leadership
  • Strong storytelling and executive communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, C-suite-ready narratives
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Google BigQuery, Google Analytics, Marketo, Looker Studio / Tableau, and Salesforce
  • Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives from planning through execution
  • Highly proactive and self-starting, able to operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy

    • Preferred qualifications:

  • Direct experience building or maintaining ETL pipelines, data models, or analytics infrastructure
  • Familiarity with marketing funnel measurement and attribution models
  • Fluent in AI/automation tools to improve analytics, reporting, or marketing workflows
