Mechanical engineer

We are looking for aMechanical Engineerto work with two core parts of theAutoStoresystem: theGrid, the aluminium structure that the robots operate on, and theBins, which store and move goods within the system. You will work on both thenext generation of Grid and Bin productsand the continuous improvement of solutions already in the market.

This is ahands-on product developmentrole where you will work withmechanical design, materials, CAD, testing, and validation. With Bins produced at a scale of millions of units per year and Grid installations operating around the world, your work will help ensure our products are robust, reliable, and ready for production and customer use.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the development ofnext-generationAutoStoreBins, while continuously improving existing Bin, Grid, and related products.

• Create and modify3D models, mechanical designs, drawings, and technical documentationusing Autodesk Inventor, and participate in technical design reviews.

• Plan, execute, and evaluateproduct and system testing, using results to validate requirements, identify issues, and improve designs.

• Work withmaterials, specifications, and manufacturing requirements, supporting material evaluation and ensuring consistent product performance in high-volume production.

• Contribute throughout thefull product lifecycle, from early concepts and prototypes through validation and mass production, while supporting sustaining engineering and technical investigations on existing products.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in mechanical product development, taking physical products through design, prototyping, testing, validation, and design iterations. Relevant technical education is preferred,but a university degree is not requiredif you have strong practical engineering experience.

• Good understanding of materials and material properties, and how material selection and parameters influence product design, performance, and manufacturing.

• Strong experience with 3D CAD and mechanical design, including drawings, specifications, requirements, tolerances, and engineering documentation. Experience with Autodesk Inventor and PLM systems is an advantage.

• Practical experience with prototyping,andtest setups, using test results and technical data to develop and verify solutions.

• Experience with plastics or metal manufacturing is a strong advantage, particularly injectionmolding, tooling and DFM, sheet metal, or extruded aluminium.
