About this role
Medical Director
Glutopia is founded by people with a connection to diabetes. We are parents, spouses, children and co-workers who have seen first hand the daily life of a person with diabetes. People with diabetes make estimated 300 diabetes-related decisions a day. That’s more than 109,000 decisions per year. No wonder folks get burned out, tripped up, or just plain quit. We are committed to building a solution to help them get back to living their life.
Our mission is to simplify the decision making for people with diabetes. We would like to become the “diabetes whisperer”, quietly guiding you toward those day-to-day decisions such as what to eat, normal or light meal, when to go for a run, safe to drive, and more. The goal is to perform all nitty gritty calculations for you and help you make the choices with one click. Our vision is to help millions of people with diabetes maximize their blood glucose in range while freeing their brain to focus on the rest of their life.
As Medical Director, you’ll provide clinical guidance, strategic insights, education, and internal user research as we iterate on our best-in-class Diabetes care platform. You’ll also have a significant external-facing role who represents Glutopia to clinicians in community practices and health systems in service of retaining and growing our clinical user network. In addition, you will:
- Serve as a primary clinical voice of the company both internally and externally through networking and presenting at conferences, delivering clinically insightful messaging appropriate for sophisticated clinical and health technology audiences.
- Drive the clinical strategy to grow and retain our clinical user network.
- Leverage your clinical expertise to provide strategic and operational support to our Product and Engineering teams to make sure our offerings meet the needs of our large network of clinicians who use them every day to care for diabetic patients.
- Ensure that our offerings remain fresh and deliver value in the rapidly evolving Diabetic therapeutics landscape.
- Establish and nurture key relationships throughout the diabetes ecosystem.
- Serve as a source of thought leadership for the direction of the company and its products.
- Provide physician-level guidance on workflow development.
Qualifications
- You're an endocrinologist or primary care physician with 8 or more years of experience.

- You have a thorough understanding of the day to day challenges faced by people of diabetes today.
