Men's Night Shelter - Support Worker

Join Christchurch City Mission (Te Whare Mīhana Ki Ōtautahi) and help support people experiencing homelessness, hardship, and life challenges. Every day you’ll make a real impact in our community.

About the Role

Permanent 40 hours per week, Friday to Tuesday, 4.30pm-12.30am. You’ll be part of a supportive, integrated residential team providing practical support, coping strategies, and medication management for residents in our Night shelter. Our trained Support Workers work closely with clinical staff to deliver 24/7 carethat meets the individual needs of men.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience working in social services and/or related qualification preferred
• Experience working with people who are homeless or at risk
  
• Strong communication and relationship skills
• Competent in IT systems including Microsoft Office
• Understanding of social justice, Te Tiriti, and relevant legislation
  
• Alignment with our Christian-based, values-led environment
