Officer Cleaner

Position Summary

The Part-Time Office Cleaner keeps the GTS main office clean, sanitary, and presentable for employees and visitors. Working mostly after business hours, this person handles routine cleaning of offices, restrooms, kitchens, and common areas, keeps supplies stocked, and reports maintenance concerns. The role requires someone reliable who can work independently and take care with company property and confidential materials.

Every shift:

• Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, counters, and floors
• Restock toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and hand sanitizer
• Empty all trash and recycling bins, replace liners, and take waste to the outdoor dumpster
• Vacuum carpeted areas and sweep and mop hard floors
• Wipe down kitchen and break room counters, sinks, tables, chairs, and microwave interiors
• Load and run the dishwasher, if applicable, and put away clean dishes
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, light switches, railings, and shared printers
• Tidy conference rooms and reception, including wiping tables and straightening chairs
• Secure the building at the end of the shift by turning off lights, locking doors, and setting the alarm as instructed

Weekly or as scheduled:

• Clean out the refrigerator and wipe down its interior
• Dust desks, shelves, window sills, blinds, and other surfaces
• Clean glass doors, interior windows, and entryway glass
• Spot-clean walls, doors, and baseboards
• Wipe down appliance exteriors such as the refrigerator, coffee machine, and vending machines

Ongoing:

• Track cleaning supply levels and let your supervisor know when items need reordering
• Report leaks, broken fixtures, burned-out lights, pest issues, or other maintenance needs
• Store cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and follow product safety instructions
• Leave papers, files, and belongings on employee desks undisturbed, and keep any information seen in the office confidential
• Perform other reasonable cleaning tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Commercial, janitorial, or custodial cleaning experience preferred
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work without direct supervision
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and cleaning checklists
• Knowledge of safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, or willingness to learn
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must pass a background check after a conditional offer of employment

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for most of the shift
• Bend, kneel, stoop, and reach overhead regularly
• Lift and carry up to 25 lbs, such as trash bags or supply boxes
• Push and operate a vacuum, mop bucket, and cleaning cart
• Work with common cleaning products while using gloves and other protective equipment as needed

Work Environment

The work takes place indoors in a professional office setting, mostly after regular business hours when few employees are present. The cleaner will have access to the building and is responsible for securing it at the end of the shift.
