Outpatient General Surgery – Physician Assistant

Under the general supervision of a physician or administrator, the Physician Assistant provides comprehensive outpatient surgical care, including patient evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, follow-up care, and select office-based procedures. ThePhysician Assistant collaborates closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum of surgical services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients in an outpatient surgical practice
• Collaborate closely with surgeons to develop and implement treatment plans
• Perform select office procedures within scope of practice
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and recovery expectations
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation

BS: Physician Assistant (Required)

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - NYS Office of Professions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
