Part-Time Cook

The Paqtnkek Preschool/Daycare provides a safe, nurturing, and Mi’kmaw focused environment for children to learn and grow. We are seeking a caring and reliable Part-Time Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for our children, following health and safety guidelines.

Position Details:

Hours: 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday

Reports to: Daycare Director

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare healthy and balanced meals and snacks in accordance with daycare menus and dietary requirements.

Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.

Manage food inventory and notify the Director when supplies need replenishing.

Accommodate special dietary needs and allergies.

Work collaboratively with daycare staff to ensure mealtime runs smoothly.

Qualifications:

Valid Food Handling Course Certification (required).

Criminal Background Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (required).

Previous cooking experience, preferably in a daycare, school setting.

Ability to work independently and maintain a clean, safe kitchen.

Reliable, punctual, and committed to the well-being of children.

Wage: Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
