PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

To support the Payroll Manager by ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, maintaining payroll data integrity and confidentiality, coordinating with HR to resolve payroll matters, and keeping the iChris payroll system up to date.


WORK PROFILE

  • Full Time Employment
  • 84 normal hours per fortnight
  • 8 hours per day [Mon-Fri 0800 – 1700 hrs, excluding 1 hour for lunch] [overtime as required]
  • 2 hours per Saturday [Sat 0800 – 1000 hrs]
  • Standard Employment Conditions as per PNG Labour Act


JOB REQUIREMENTS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage the day-to-day payroll operations and ensure payroll processes run smoothly.
  • Update and maintain accurate employee records.
  • Process timesheets for permanent and field-based town employees.
  • Maintain, verify, and reconcile payroll records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll issues, discrepancies, and employee queries in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit fortnightly Nasfund contribution schedules and ensure all employee contributions are processed accurately.
  • Provide NASFUND employee information, membership details, and reports to HR as requested, and assist with related queries.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in payroll administration and end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Experience in payroll systems and payroll support.
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory deductions, and payroll best practices.
  • Experience in payroll reporting, data analysis, and report generation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve payroll issues.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential employee information.
