Platform Engineer

In a world where products and software can be replicated overnight, intellectual property is one of the last durable moats. Stilta builds agentic AI for intellectual property, giving legal and IP teams software that can reason across massive document sets, surface evidence, and produce litigation-grade work faster and more reliably.

We recently raised a $10.5M seed round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Y Combinator and operators from companies including OpenAI, Legora, and Lovable. We already work with major IP firms and Fortune 500 companies, and we’re at the very beginning of defining what great AI-native software for intellectual property looks like.

The role

You'll own the platform every Stilta agent runs on. Our customers hand us long-running, document-heavy work - agents reasoning for hours across millions of pages - and the infrastructure underneath must be fast, secure and invisible to the people relying on it.

You'll shape how we scale from hundreds to thousands of concurrent agent sessions, set the bar for reliability and security, and make the architectural calls the rest of engineering builds on for years to come.

What you'll do

• Design and run the Kubernetes platform behind large-scale agent swarms - scheduling, autoscaling and isolation across customers

• Build the systems that keep agent sessions fast and resilient under heavy, unpredictable load

• Own our infrastructure as code and the path to production on Azure, with enterprise-grade security, compliance and data residency built in rather than bolted on

• Make storage and data pipelines durable and performant for workloads spanning millions of documents

• Build observability that tells us why something is failing, not just that it is

What we're looking for

• You've designed and scaled distributed systems in production, and you have well-earned opinions on what makes them reliable. You take ownership end to end and want to set the standard for the team that follows

• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure and infrastructure as code. We run on Azure with Terraform; equivalent depth elsewhere counts

• You're a software engineer first - strong in TypeScript and/or Python, and comfortable building the services that run the platform, not just configuring them

• You treat reliability, performance and cost as product decisions, and you instrument before you guess

• Bonus: experience running AI or inference-heavy workloads at scale, or with enterprise security and compliance
