In India, our platform supports digital mortgage valuation, project finance and legal workflows across a connected ecosystem of lenders, valuers, legal professionals and property data. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an exceptional Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance technology solutions that power our products and support our long-term growth.

Why this role matters

The Principal Software Engineer is a senior hands-on engineering role responsible for leading a pod of engineers (typically 2–3) and delivering high-quality, scalable software aligned to Valocity’s global platform strategy.

This role combines strong technical delivery, leadership within a pod, and alignment to platform and architectural standards. You will work closely with Engineering Leads, Product Owners, and Architects to deliver outcomes that support global products and services.

The role is delivery-focused, with accountability for both technical quality and team output.

Role Context (India Operating Model)

• Acts as Pod Lead for a small engineering team
• Responsible for day-to-day technical delivery and quality within the pod
• Works within a global platform model (shared services, not regional builds)
• Aligns to architecture, platform and coding standards
• Collaborates across NZ, AU, and India teams

Experience

• 6+ years in software engineering, with experience in a senior or lead role
• Strong experience with .NET Core, Angular, and Azure cloud environments
• Proven experience leading small teams or pods
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles
• Experience building scalable, cloud-native applications
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Strong coding, code review, and quality assurance practices
• Experience working in distributed/global teams

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in SaaS platforms or product-based environments
• Exposure to microservices and API-first architecture
• Experience aligning to platform/shared services models
• Understanding of performance, security, and scalability patterns
• Mobile experience with Flutter

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent practical experience
